Prefabricated, Modular and Fully Custom
Prefabricated
A manufacturer-produced system: insulated panels or a defined enclosure, standardized racking bays and a matched cooling unit, delivered as a package and assembled on site. Build quality can be high; the constraint is that the room must accommodate the system rather than the reverse.
Modular

Fully Custom

Non-Negotiable
Cooling and Envelope Apply to Both
Neither approach removes the physics. A prefabricated system and a custom room both require a heat-load calculation based on the actual volume, wall assemblies, glazing, lighting and door usage — not a nominal bottle count. Vapor control has to sit on the correct side of the insulation for the assembly, and every penetration, seam and door perimeter has to be sealed, or the cooling unit runs against a continuous moisture load.
Condensate has to go somewhere defined — a gravity line or a pump with a considered route. Rejected heat has to leave the building envelope rather than accumulate in an adjacent closet or garage. And the unit has to remain reachable for filter changes, coil cleaning and eventual replacement without dismantling racking.
