About

A collection-led practice. Built around the collection, not the catalog.

CPC exists for clients who want more than a beautiful wine room. They want a cellar that protects the collection, supports the way they entertain, and reflects quiet confidence.

    Founder

    Ivo Cooper

Cooper Private Cellars was founded by Ivo Cooper, a Los Angeles beverage director and credentialed sommelier with more than two decades of experience building, organizing, and presenting serious wine programs.

His approach begins with the wine itself — how it is collected, stored, served, aged, gifted, and shared — before a cellar is ever specified.

That perspective shapes the practice today. Cooper Private Cellars operates as a collection-led wine cellar design, specification, and project coordination firm. As a Registered WhisperKOOL Distributor and Ultra Wine Racks sourcing partner, CPC specifies and sources from a position of expertise — and coordinates with licensed and insured trade professionals who perform the construction, refrigeration, electrical, glass, and cabinetry work.

Every cellar starts the same way: with a conversation about the wine, not the space. Collection first. Cellar second.

    Philosophy

"A cellar should work the way a great dining room works — quietly, beautifully, and in complete service of the moment."

We approach every project from the perspective of hospitality, not construction. Our role is collection-led cellar design, specification, and project coordination — alongside the licensed trade professionals who execute the build. The question is never just where to put the wine; it is how the wine fits into the way you live, entertain, and share your home with others.
